I have used OOo for years and now LO, but a feature I have always looked for is one that would automatically directly paste each item copied to the clipboard into an open document. Once it is toggled on, everytime you copy something them it is pasted into a document.
I used to have this option in a discontinued word processor called Text Shield (replacement for WordPad) but that feature does not work correctly under W/8.1*.
I do a lot of cut and paste operations of small amounts of printscreens as in listings, and with increasing lack of dexterity in my arthritic fingers I try to reduce keyboard use. For normal cut and paste operations I already use AutoHotKey to remap CapsLock to ctrl+c, and Esc to ctrl+v (NumLock is now Esc) which is a big help, but an autopaste feature will be good for certain jobs. Firefox even had an AutoCopy extn. that could be used with it.
I would not think it would be hard for those who know coding, but as far as I see no word pro incorporates this.
The closest thing I found was, “The Office Clipboard works with the standard Copy and Paste commands. Just copy an item to the Office Clipboard to add it to your collection, and then paste it from the Office Clipboard into any Office document at any time. Up to 24 collected items stay on the Office Clipboard until you exit all Office programs or you delete the items from the Clipboard task pane. -http://office.microsoft.com/en…
But I would like copied items to be pasted directly into the last active opened document.
Ditto and Clipdiary will both do unlimited auto pasting of copied text and most pics into their own program, and the latter also says it will paste it into any application, but the license for the free version is strictly personal use - no nonprofits (that's us), educational, gov. etc.
(* Text Shield works fine under XP, but will keep on pasting the last copied text under W/8 and likely Vista and W7. I have corresponded with the Dutch author of it, Shield but he longer writes software, and was a teen when he wrote that word pro. However, he let me host it, and if you want to see how it works it is here: http://peacebyjesus.witnesstoday.org/TextShield_Setup.exe Go to Tools>AutoPaste.).
